Dialing for DollarsSeveral years ago before the telemarketing “Do Not Call” legislation went into effect, I was working in Sales for one of the most prestigious and recognized life insurance companies in the world. Part of my job was to commit my schedule every Monday night for telemarketing as in “cold calling”, “dialing for dollars”, “interrupting dinner”, etc.
At the time, we would receive our leads from new home owners who would fill out “mortgage protection cards”. These would be people who were interested in further protecting their families and their new home. The mortgage cards would be divided up between us “newbies”. |
